Righteous among the Jews of the world. The Warsaw historian returns diploma to Israel. "Enough anti-Polish campaign"

Janusz Simcha Sujecki is a well-known varsavianist of Jewish origin. 20 years ago he received a distinction from the Israeli embassy. Now, due to the anti-Polish campaign, he decided to return it and wrote a sharp open letter.

In 1998, he received a diploma from the then Israeli ambassador for "merits to protect the monuments of Jewish culture in Poland." In an open letter, the historian said that he was going to be returned by ambassador Annie Azari.

In the letter, the historian writes that he hoped that Israel would "recollect and break the anti-Polish campaign." In his opinion, the opposite happened.

"In a situation where Polish hysteria is taking place in Israel and Poles are credited for co-responsibility for the Holocaust, Israeli journalist - Lahav Harkov - uses the phrase" Polish death camps "on Twitter twentyfive, in the network on a mass scale is sent a graphic defaming Poland, the Israeli embassy publishes a statement in which he notes "a wave of attacks of anti-Semitic origin" that allegedly occurred in the Polish media, "writes Janusz Simcha Sujecki.

The historian also gave an interview "Super Express" in which he said, among others:
"In prosecuting Poland for participation in the Holocaust, the entire political class of Israel, all media, is taking part in the war against Poles. And the anti-Polish mood is today the mood of almost the entire Israeli society, which is very keen on picking it up. The truth is being broken, he's talking about some mythical Nazis, not Germans. Finally - reproduces nonsense about the indisputable participation of Poles in the Holocaust. Meanwhile, the truth is unambiguous - both Polish and Jewish nations were victims of unimaginable German crimes. And it is Germany that is responsible for the Holocaust and the crimes of World War II. The scandal is that the state of Israel can not see it. The actions of the Israeli authorities are shameful. And I, with no other possibilities, can protest only symbolically. And such a symbolic act is to return a diploma, which reminds me that it is an award from the state that wants to quit Poland not only on its knees, but on the face. I did not want to keep it at home, "said Sujecki.

Janusz Simcha Sujecki is the author of texts, among others in such titles as "Gazeta Polska. Daily" and independent.
